Frog Craft: Step-by-Step Guide 🐸

Step 1

First, craft the green body of your frog. Carefully cut open a paper cup to use as a template. Lay the flattened cup onto green paper and trace around it with a pencil. Cut out the shape neatly. Wrap a new paper cup with this strip and glue it in place with a Pritt glue stick.
Tip:
If you already have green paper cups, you can skip this step and save time.

Step 2

Now it’s time for the frog’s belly. Use the base of the flattened cup as a template and draw a circle onto the lighter green paper. Cut it out carefully.

Step 3

Glue the cut-out belly onto the lower half of your paper cup using the glue stick.

Step 4

Next, craft the frog’s eyes from green, white and black paper. Cut out the parts carefully – our free frog craft template at the end of this guide will help. Layer the pieces together and glue them inside the rim at the top of the cup.
Tip:
Make sure the eyes are on the same side as the belly circle.

Once you’ve finished this paper frog craft, why stop there? From chirpy birds to curious cats and friendly bats – our free animal craft ideas are waiting to be explored. With different Pritt Glue Sticks and the Pritt Multipurpose Glue, DIY projects are quick and easy.

Step 5

To give your frog a friendly face, cut a small mouth from red paper. For cheerful freckles, punch tiny circles out of green paper with a hole punch. Glue all the parts onto the paper cup.

Step 6

Almost done! Draw the frog’s legs and feet on green paper with a pencil. You can also use our printable template. Cut them out neatly.

Step 7

Glue the legs and feet onto the back of the cup: first attach the ends of the feet to the bottom rim, then the legs on top to cover the joints.

Step 8

Finally, carefully punch a hole in the middle of the cup bottom with scissors. Thread a piece of string through and knot it underneath. Tie a pom-pom to the other end – this will be the “fly” your frog tries to catch. Done: your little frog is now a playful catch game!
Tip:
You can even add small wings to the pom-pom using white paper for a realistic fly look.
