Butterfly Craft:

Step by Step 🦋

Step 1

Grab your coloured card and paint it with a paintbrush using your favourite shades. Pick one colour or mix a few – the brighter, the better! Once you are happy with it, set it aside to dry.

Step 2

Add some fun patterns to your paper butterfly craft using foam stamps and more paint.
Tip:
No stamps? No problem! Use your fingers to add playful dots or swirls. Let everything dry before moving on.

Step 3

Fold a piece of paper in half and draw half a butterfly along the fold. Cut it out to create a symmetrical shape – a classic technique in butterfly arts and crafts. Want to keep things simple? Just use our free printable butterfly template at the end of this article! Place the template on your painted card, trace around it, and cut it out.

Step 4

Now let’s give your paper butterfly craft some personality! Pinch open a wooden peg and wrap a chenille stem around the top. Twist the ends so they look like little curly feelers. Et voilà, your butterfly has its own little body and springy antennae, ready to flutter!

Time to decorate your peg! Use Pritt Multipurpose Glue to add sparkly and colourful bits that make your butterfly craft shine. Go as bright and bold as you like – this is where your butterfly’s personality really shows.

Step 6

Clip your decorated peg right in the centre of your paper butterfly’s wings, with the feelers pointing up.

Step 7

Time for the final sparkle! Add glitter, feathers, or buttons to the wings using Pritt Multipurpose Glue. It’s the perfect finishing for your colourful paper butterfly decorations – a fun and creative way to let your imagination take flight!
