Craft a mushroom garland: step by step 🍄‍🟫

Step 1

Draw mushroom caps on brown photo cardboard and cut them out carefully. This is especially easy with our Mushroom Craft template (found it at the end of these instructions).
Tip:
Would you like to make a toadstool too? Then take some red photo cardboard and stick white dots onto it.

Step 2

Draw the mushroom stems on beige photo cardboard and cut them out as well.

Step 3

Cut a strip approximately 3 cm wide from green photo cardboard. The length depends on how many mushrooms you want to craft: for each mushroom, you need a piece of grass that covers the entire width of the mushroom base. Cut the strip into a fringe on one side to create a meadow grass look.

Step 4

Now take the white photo cardboard and also cut a strip about 3 cm wide from it. Fringe the strip with scissors as you did with the grass – this will be the mushroom's collar.

Did you know?

The Pritt Glue Stick is ideal for craft projects. It is solvent-free, consists of 97% natural ingredients and is washable at 20 °C. If you want to add a dash of colour, reach for the Pritt Colour Stick.

Step 5

Now it's time to make the eyes for your easy Mushroom Craft: cut circles from white and black photo cardboard – the white ones slightly larger, the black ones smaller (these will be the pupils). Alternatively, use a hole punch for the pupils. Glue the small black circles onto the large white circles with your Pritt Glue Stick.

Step 6

Now glue all the pieces together: First, attach the collar to the top of the mushroom stem using the Pritt Glue Stick. Next, glue the hat to the top of the collar so that it peeks out from underneath.

Step 7

Finally, it's time for the eyes and grass. Stick the grass to the mushroom stem and the eyes to the cap.

Step 8

Take a clothes peg and apply glue evenly to one side. Press your paper Mushroom Craft onto the clothes peg. Important: Stick the mushroom onto the peg so that its feet are positioned where you would squeeze the peg with your fingers. This way, the mushrooms will hang straight on the string, and the garland remains balanced.

Schritt 9

Repeat steps 1 to 8 until you have made enough mushrooms for your garland.

Step 10

Leave everything to dry thoroughly. In the meantime, cut a piece of string to the desired length. Attach your paper mushrooms to the string using the clips. Done! Now you can hang up your autumnal garland.
Tip:
Leave enough string at both ends so that you can hang up your garland easily.
