Create invitation card for your birthday 🎨

Step 1

Start by drawing a classic water glass shape on coloured paper (size: 5.5 inches in length and 2 inches in width). Use a ruler for straight lines.
Tip:
Bold, summery colours work best to make the paper cups look like real party cups.

Step 2

Cut it out along the lines, then repeat on a different colour of paper. For this second piece, draw a glass that is a little smaller (size: 5 inches in length, 1.5 inches in width) to create a pocket for the Birthday Invitation card in the next steps. Cut it out accordingly.

Step 3

Apply Pritt Glue Stick to the bottom and sides of the smaller piece of paper. This will form the front of your glass.

Did you know?

Did you know that the Pritt Glue Stick is made with 97% natural ingredients? It’s safe for little children and washes out easily at 20 degrees Celsius.

Step 4

Stick the smaller glass onto the centre of the larger one – but don’t apply glue to the top edge! You’ll need that space to slide in your straw later on.
Tip:
Place the straw on the paper before you start to glue, so you know exactly how much space to leave unglued.

Step 5

Cut half circles and small rounded-edge rectangles or squares from colourful paper. These will form your lemon slices and ice cubes. Don’t hold back on the colours!

Step 6

Now add detail to your lemons and cubes. Use a black pen to outline the citrus slices and draw their segments. For the cubes, round the corners slightly and add small circles to create the look of trapped air bubbles.

Step 7

Place a few lemon slices and ice cubes inside the “glass”. Once you’re happy with the arrangement, apply Pritt Glue Stick on the back of the slices and cubes. Press them firmly onto the “glass” for a few moments to keep them in place.

Step 8

Use your pen to draw little bubbles around the fruit and ice – these make your own Birthday Invitations look like a fizzy summer drink.

Step 9

Cut a narrow strip of writing paper. Add glue to the top end of the straw and attach it to the top end of the writing paper – this is where you can write down your invitation text.

Step 10

Write your birthday party details on the strip of writing paper. This is a fun and easy way to create Birthday Invitations that feel personal and special.
Tip:
If you prefer a neat finish, you can also type your invitation details on the computer and print it out.

Step 11

Wrap the paper around the straw so that it sits tightly without bending or flattening the straw. Press the paper gently for a few seconds to help it stay in place – be careful not to squeeze too tightly! Once it feels secure, start rolling the paper up along the straw until the whole strip is wrapped around it.

Step 12

Pop the straw with your Birthday Invitation into your paper ”glass”. Your DIY Birthday Invitation card is ready to wow your guests! They will love discovering your hidden message inside the bubbly summer drink.
