Witch Hat Craft:

step-by-step 🎨

Step 1

Let’s get crafty! Start by placing your witch hat templates onto the black felt and clip them down with pegs. You’ll find the template at the end of this guide – or get creative and sketch your own.

Step 2

Snip, snip! Cut out your felt pieces carefully. You’ll need a cone shape for the hat tip and a circle for the brim. You are now officially crafting a fabulous witch hat DIY project.

Step 3

Grab your Pritt Multipurpose Glue and run a line along the straight edge of the cone piece. Roll it like a little ice cream cone and press the edges together. Try to keep that tip nice and neat.

Step 4

Hold everything in place with pegs or clips and let the cone dry. Now the first part of your witch hat DIY masterpiece is done!

Step 5

Time to shape the brim. Snip little triangles into the middle of the felt circle so you can fold them up. These will form the tip of the hat.
Tip:
Fold the circle in half first – it makes the cuts much easier!

Step 6

Unfold the circle and bend those little triangles upwards. Add a bit of glue to the outside of the flaps, so they are ready to hold the cone.

Did you know?

Halloween is the perfect time for creative projects such as witch hat crafts. Just add cute bats or creative pumpkin decorations, and you are all set for your next Halloween party.

Step 7

Carefully place your cone on top of the brim, press it down and let everything dry. Your witch hat craft is really coming to life now.

A person is using scissors, cutting a thin strip of purple felt over a table with small decorations and a little black hat made of felt.

Step 8

Cut a thin purple felt strip (about 1 cm wide) and a few little stars. The strip should be long enough to wrap around your cone – about 15 cm is perfect.

Step 9

Dab some Pritt Multipurpose Glue onto the felt strip and stick it around your cone. Glue the stars as decoration onto the hat cone.
Tip:
Got leftover felt or tulle? Use it to cut out cute little decorations. Add bats, googly eyes, or even a cheeky little pumpkin. Your witch hat DIY can be as unique as you are. Anything goes!

Step 10

Snip a piece of tulle (around 4 cm x 3 cm), gather it in the middle, and tie it with a felt strip to make a cute little bow. It adds just the right touch of charm to finish off your hat.

Step 11

Glue the bow to the bottom edge of the hat cone. A little charm goes a long way.

Step 12

Last spell of the day! Add a line of glue to your hairband. The length of the line should roughly match the diameter of the hat brim. Carefully press on your finished hat. Clip it down with pegs and let it dry. Well done, you have just crafted your very own DIY witch hat!
