How to Make Paper Roses:
Step-by-Step Guide 🌹

Step 1

Start by creating the template for your rose petals: draw a circle with a 5 cm diameter on the card stock and cut it out neatly.

Step 2

Cut out a rectangle measuring 16 cm x 5 cm from the card stock. This will become the little tube you’ll use to shape your paper rose flower.

Step 3

Use your round template to draw circles onto pink crêpe paper and cut them out neatly. You’ll need 12 circles to make one paper rose. Of course, you can use any colour you like – red, lilac, or orange also work beautifully for your paper rose bouquet.

Step 4

Every rose needs a few leaves. For each Paper Rose Craft you make, cut two leaves from green crêpe paper.

Step 5

It’s time to make the tube for your craft roses. Apply some glue to one narrow end of the green card stock strip – either with the Pritt Glue Stick or Pritt Multipurpose Glue. Roll the rectangle into a tube about 4 cm in diameter and press both ends together until it holds firmly.

Did you know?

The Pritt Multipurpose Glue and Pritt Glue Stick are ideal helpers for your art and craft projects – whether you’re making tulips, paper roses, or any other paper flower craft. The glue stick even comes in coloured versions for extra creativity!

Step 6

Now your rose is ready to bloom! Fold each crêpe paper circle in half, so the paper’s texture runs vertically to the fold. Place the first petal over the edge of the tube – don’t glue this one yet.

Step 7

Apply a small amount of Pritt Multipurpose Glue to the pink petal where it folds over the green paper tube. Only glue the area where the next petal will overlap, not the entire edge.

Step 8

Press the next petal, slightly overlapping the first one. Continue gluing all twelve petals around the tube in this way to form your paper rose flower.

Step 9

Carefully pull the tube out of your rose and turn it upside down – the fold should now be at the bottom. Allow your paper roses DIY to dry thoroughly.

Step 10

Gently pull apart the outer petals to give your paper rose more volume and a natural look. Finally, glue the green crêpe paper leaves to the back of your rose with a bit of Pritt Multipurpose Glue. Done – your Paper Rose Craft is complete!
