DIY Advent Calendar:
Step by step 🎨

Step 1

Cut a piece about 16 x 24 inches from the old cardboard box. Paint it in different shades of green and let it dry thoroughly.

A person paints a large piece of cardboard with green paint.
A person draws a line on a green piece of cardboard with a pencil and ruler.

Step 2

Using the ruler, draw a pointed triangle on the painted cardboard. Then cut out the shape. This forms the base for your do-it-yourself Advent Calendar.

Step 3

Now it's time for the baubles for your Advent Calendar: Using different sized glasses, trace 25 circles on the colourful (glittery) paper and cut them out.

Tip:
You can also use a circle punch for this.

Step 4

Attach clothes pegs to each paper circle. Then distribute the "baubles" on the green cardboard until you're happy with the arrangement.

Step 5

All set? Now use the Pritt Multipurpose glue to stick the individual clothes pegs onto the cardboard. Allow the glue to dry completely.

Crafting is a must during the most wonderful time of the year: Whether it's snowflakes, Christmas cards, snowmen or stars – Pritt craft glue makes every project a breeze. If you'd rather not use liquid glue like the Pritt Compact Permanent Glue roller, the Pritt Glue Stick is the perfect alternative. And it's even available in a coloured version as a Pritt Colour Stick

Step 6

While the glue is drying, you can work on the next part of your Advent Calendar craft: Draw 25 small circles for the numbers on the colourful (glittery) paper and cut them out. Tip: You can also use a circle punch here.

Step 7

Use number stamps or stickers to label the small circles with numbers from 1 to 25. Tip: Alternatively, you can write the numbers on the circles by hand.

Step 10

Print out 25 small riddles, poems or Christmas-themed quotes, or write them by hand on small pieces of paper. Cut the papers to size if needed.

Tip:

You can also prepare vouchers instead.

Step 11

Fold the papers and use the clothes pegs to tuck them behind each bauble so they're hidden from view.
