Materials:

  • print out the attached document
  • 1 empty cereal box

Tools:

  • 1 handy Pritt Stick
  • 1 pair of scissors

Backstory:

Your dress up doll has clothing, which she can wear. Clothing is a fiber and textile material that is worn on the body. Making and wearing clothes is something that only humans really do. Humans have been wearing clothing for more than 8 000 years, which is a very long time. Clothing protects people from the cold and heat. It also protects people from dirt, splinters, rough edges and other harmful environmental factors. This is because it acts as a protective shield between your skin and the outside environment.  What are your favorite cloths?

Step 1

Cut out all the images in the documents that have been printed out. If you have chosen to print out the black and white version, you should color in all the parts.

Step 2

Cut out the two large sides from your empty cereal box so that you have 2 large rectangles.

Step 3

Glue Alex (image 1) to the cereal box, using your handy Pritt glue stick.

Step 4

Cut out Alex (image 1) from the cereal box using your scissors. This is your doll, which you will dress up.

Step 5

Now use your glue stick to decorate the clothes. You can use the numbers as a hint for what should go where.

Step 6

Fold over all the white flaps on your clothes. Look at the photo for help.

And that is it!

You are ready to have some dress up fun.

We would love to see pictures of your dress up doll. You can ask your mum or dad to post your pictures on our Facebook wall at “Pritt world”.
