Who`s crafting?Parents with kids
Have you ever had a tea party with all your toys and dolls? In a magical world, the dolls and toys can take themselves to tea, by climbing in a magical dollhouse carriage and riding to the tea party in style. In this project we will learn how to make a horse and carriage. The paper-crafting fairy tale comes with a horse, a carriage and several friends for playtime fun. This project is particularly fun when combined with the Pritt “Princess Doll House” paper-crafting kit for kids. It is one of many great Pritt arts and craft sets that you can find in a store near you. Now all your paper friends can come to tea!
- Print out the attached documents
- 1 breakfast cereal box
- A handy Pritt Stick
First we cut out all the dollhouse carriage images from the printed-out crafting templates.
Fold image 1 along all the dotted lines. Then glue the flaps into place to form a box shape. Refer to the picture for help.
Glue images 2, 3 and 4 to your breakfast cereal box. We must let the glue dry for 30 seconds. Can you count to 30? Next, we cut out the images 2, 3 and 4 from the box.
Now we glue images 3 and 4 to the carriage body made by image 1.
Fold along the dotted line on image 2. Glue the folded flaps to the side of the carriage at window height as shown in the picture.
Fold image 6 as seen in the picture. Then glue it into the carriage to form the seats.
To make the horse, fold the horse’s body (image 13) along the dotted lines, then glue the white tabs in place, as seen in the pictures. Fold along the dotted line on both tails (image 15), and then glue the 2 sides together. Make sure not to glue the tabs together! Then put glue on the coloured side of the tabs, slip the tail into the slit and glue the tabs to the inside of the horse body (image 13). Fold the horse’s head (image 14) in half and glue the two white tabs together, as seen in the picture. Then glue the horse’s head to the body.
To image 7, fold the cut-out in half, and then fold the bases inward. Place glue on the coloured base tabs and press them together, so that they are glued into place. Use the picture as a reference.
And that's it!
We hope you have lots of traveling fun with your carriage.
We would love to see pictures of your open fairy tale carriage. You can ask your mum or dad to post pictures on our Facebook wall at “Prittworld”.
